About Jeannine:

Jeannine received both her Bachelorís and Masterís degrees in music education from The Hartt School at The University of Hartford. She completed her early childhood music training with John Feierabend, Ph.D, founder of The National Center for Music and Movement in the Early Years and author of the First Steps in Music Program. (First Steps in Music is a parent/child music and movement program for children birth to 5 years old.) After spending five years at the Coordinator and Lead teacher for First Steps in Music, Jeannine returned to public school teaching and is now an elementary school music teacher in Middletown, CT where she also serves as the vocal coach for Middletown Teen Theater and Middletown Children's Theater. She continues her work with preschool age children through her part time position as the music teacher for
Knight Hall School in West Hartford, CT.

Over the course of her career Jeannine has had the opportunity to be involved in the development and production of several special projects including "M.A.G.I.C.", (an interdisciplinary arts and social studies program), "The Music Share", (a bi-annual singing and dancing event for students and their families), and the annual "Dance Festival" at Frederick Brewster School in Durham, CT.

Performance is also an important part of Jeannine's musical life. Most recently she starred as Rona Lisa Peretti in "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" with Middletown Teen Theater. Her previous roles include Rosemary in "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" and Catherine in "Pippin", among others.

Jeannine studied vocal performance at the Hartt School with Mary Mack and is a member of the ECMMA (Early Childhood Music and Movement Association). Her professional mission is to bring the joy of music making to children and their families while also nurturing the musical potential that every child is born with. Jeannine is also committed to preserving Americaís folk music and dance heritage. She has studied folk music research with Jill Trinka, Ph.D. and folk instruments with Jeffrey Rhone.
